| Fountain Solution What Fountain Solution are most users using on their quad stacks? We were using Varyx but have not been able to find a good replacement. We currently are having an issue whe we need to sstop for a period of say 10 min or more, when we start the press back up the impression mark prints. In order to get this to go away we have to wash all 24 plates with plate cleaner. We are using a product from Applied Chemistries and it is a a mild acid. Thank you

| We are using RBP Liquid Gold 103. They added a growth inhibitor to it as well. We have clean plates in less than 100 copies. Our pans stay clean as well as the resivoirs stay very clean. It ,too is a mild acid and we could not be more pleased with the products performance. |

| I use liquid gold 262 nuetral from RBP. I also get the marks if impressions left on too long but on restart I just run up with water and forms on for a hundred copies or so then I turn on ink and the marks dissapear by then.

| Mike Burke - Park Press We are using Prisco newsfount F and have quick start-ups with it. We leave impressions on all day and have no problem when press is down for 1 hour. The Pressman's routine start and stop is turn on water first then ink form's and when stopping turn off forms first then water. He says when the ink forms touch a dry plate that's when the problem occur's, the blue and red mostly. |

| We also use Prisco Newsfont F and we also have quick start ups, there are times when we start a press up after sitting over night and the plates clean right up. The only problem i've been trying to over come is what i call banding, it looks like roller bounce and on some units i cannot get rid of it. i've checked iron to iron , changed rollers, tried diferent blankets, tried very light roller to plate settings and nothing seems to help. one day the unit prints good and the next day the lines are back. i've tried diferent inks some work better than other it seems and i've recentley switch to Flint, but on some units i still have it. |

| We have had issues with the banding in our Quad stack as well. Like toy we tried al the usual fixes with no luck. We ended up replacing the blanket and plate cylinder bearings and it took care of the problem. |
